Finding the Perfect Name For Your Dog
Getting a new puppy is an exciting time for a family. It’s like the arrival of a new baby! If there are children in the family, the event is even more exciting. With luck, he did his homework and read books on the subject and knows all about the responsibilities of owning a new pet.
There is only one thing to do: find the perfect name for your dog.
How do you find the perfect name for your dog? Ideally, it should reflect your character and even your physical appearance. If you already have a name in mind because it is what you have always dreamed of for your dog, congratulations. Your work is easy If you do not have a name in mind, this will take some reflection, and even – as was our case – an official family reunion!
Would you like to name your dog as a famous philosopher: Homer, Plato or Aristotle? Or maybe as a famous scientist, like Einstein or Mr. Hawking? How about a biblical name like Noah? Or maybe a ridiculous name like Wacky or Taffy? Or even a food name, like honey or cinnamon? How about a common name like Sam, Max or Lady?
In my children’s picture book, CRASH, Marcelo, a five-year-old, intends to find the perfect name for his new golden retriever puppy. His parents still make suggestions, but Marcelo refuses, since he should not find any name, but the perfect name for his beloved cub. Finally, something really peculiar about the puppy helps Marcelo find the perfect name.
Then watch your puppy carefully. It may have a peculiarity or strange character trait that only belongs to it, and this will help you find the ideal name.
There are hundreds of websites online to help you choose the perfect dog name. Just do a search for “dog names” on Google or click here.
Ideally, the name you give the puppy should be short (one or two syllables) and should not sound like another family member or as a dog command, for obvious reasons. But this is not a rule and, in reality, the sky is the limit.
Have fun finding that perfect name and good luck!
